Fleur Tuinzing-Westerhuis is gespecialiseerd in aan technologie gerelateerde intellectueel eigendomskwesties, met name octrooien en kwekersrechten. In haar dagelijkse praktijk vertegenwoordigt Fleur een uiteenlopende reeks aan nationale en internationale ondernemingen die werkzaam zijn in technologie-intensieve bedrijfstakken, zoals agrifood en biotechnologie. Fleur is een ervaren octrooi-advocaat en is een van de weinige advocaten in Nederland met uitgebreide ervaring in het procederen betreffende Nederlandse en communautaire kwekersrechten. Verder verleent Fleur bijstand aan cliënten bij het implementeren van maatregelen bij inbeslagname door de douane op basis van de Europese Anti-Piraterij Verordening. In de afgelopen 10 jaar heeft Fleur procedures gevoerd in verschillende zaken bij de Nederlandse rechter, de Raad voor plantenrassen en het Bureau voor harmonisatie binnen de interne markt.

Fleur heeft uitgebreide ervaring in het opstellen en het geven van advies over licentieovereenkomsten, R&D-overeenkomsten, productie- en distributieovereenkomsten en het adviseren over technologieoverdracht en de bescherming van know-how. Ook verleent zij geregeld bijstand in aan technologie gerelateerde transacties en bedrijfssaneringen. Fleur geeft regelmatig colleges over de bescherming van innovaties en de handhaving van intellectuele eigendomsrechten. Fleur maakt deel uit van het AgriFood Team van Houthoff en is lid van de International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), de Licensing Executive Society (LES), CIOPORA (de Internationale gemeenschap van kwekers van zich ongeslachtelijk voortplantende sier- en fruitplanten) en de Associazione Internazionale Giuristi di Lingua Italiana (AIGLI).
