Daniël works as a lawyer in the Corporate M&A practice group. He focuses on national and international mergers and acquisitions, including company acquisitions, joint ventures and other partnerships, and acts for both private equity and strategic parties. Daniël also advises on corporate governance. Prior to this, he worked in Houthoff's Litigation practice group.

Represented Agilitas Private Equity Services Limited in the acquisition of TenCate Advanced Armour Holding B.V., the global leading manufacturer of lightweight survivability solutions.

Advised Yarden, one of the largest funeral service providers in the Netherlands, and its two shareholders (the Vereniging Yarden and the Stichting Yarden) in the sale of Yarden to DELA.

Houthoff advised Albert Westerman Groep B.V. and the management of State of Art on the sale of a majority stake in State of Art to Quadrum Capital. State of Art, with a rich history dating back to 1936, is headquartered in Lichtenvoorde. The company has 40 retail stores and more than 600 official dealers. The transaction was completed on 23 September 2019.

Assisted Twence, a waste processing company that produces energy, in the acquisition of Empyro. The Empyro plant produces pyrolysis oil, green steam and electricity from biomass by polygeneration.
