Josephine advises both Dutch and foreign clients on purchase and sale transactions relating to commercial real estate, property law structures and restructurings, project development and financing. Her daily work involves guiding clients through due diligence processes, drafting real estate-related contracts, negotiating, and advising on property law aspects such as the division of property into apartments, and rights of superficies and ground lease. Josephine specialises in particular in guiding clients through the purchase and sale of substantial housing portfolios.

Houthoff assisted Heimstaden AB with the indirect acquisition and financing of 9,544 residential units in the Netherlands at a purchase price of EUR 1.4 billion. Through this acquisition, Heimstaden has become the third largest private residential property owner in the Netherlands. This is the largest real estate transaction ever in the Netherlands in terms of the number of housing units.
