Voorheen was Margriet werkzaam op de sectie Corporate Regulatory waar zij financiƫle instellingen op het gebied van financiƫle regelgeving heeft geadviseerd en verzekeraars in aansprakelijkheidskwesties heeft bijgestaan.

  • Advised symplr, a leading healthcare governance, risk and compliance software-as-a-service platform, on the acquisition of The Patient Safety Company (TPSC) from Main Capital Partners.
  • Advised the shareholders of Dept Holding B.V. on the sale of the Dept Group to The Carlyle Group. Dept is an international digital agency with a focus on creativity, technology and data.
  • Advised GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, on the joint venture agreement with Equinix for more than USD 1 billion to develop and operate hyperscale data centres in Europe. The joint venture will acquire two operational data centres in London and Paris and plans to futher develop data centres in Amsterdam, Frankfurt (two sites) and London. Houthoff was co-counsel to Kirkland & Ellis on this transaction.
  • Houthoff advised a.s.r., a large Dutch insurance company, on the acquisition of VvAA Levensverzekeringen, the life insurance business of VvAA Groep. The life insurance portfolio comprises approximately 18,000 policies. The annual premium income is EUR 28m, and the technical provisions amount to EUR 430m. In addition to a multi-year life insurance partnership, VvAA and a.s.r. also intend to further expand the services to VvAA members.
  • Houthoff assisted Royal IHC in the sale of its subsidiary Vremac Cylinders to Vydraulics. Vremac Cylinders is a modern designer and manufacturer of hydraulic cylinders, swivels and piston accumulators. Its products are designed to operate in harsh conditions in the dredging, offshore, civil engineering (bridges and lock gates) and heavy machinery markets.

  • Houthoff assisted Heimstaden AB with the indirect acquisition and financing of 9,544 residential units in the Netherlands at a purchase price of EUR 1.4 billion. Through this acquisition, Heimstaden has become the third largest private residential property owner in the Netherlands. This is the largest real estate transaction ever in the Netherlands in terms of the number of housing units.

  • Houthoff represented Oceanco in the acquisition of the Heerema Fabrication Group's facilities located at the Noordweg, Zwijndrecht. Oceanco is a world-class builder of custom superyachts in the 80-140 meters range. This acquisition enables Oceanco to further expand its shipyard activities in the Netherlands.

  • Houthoff advised the shareholders (Waterland Private Equity and management) on the sale of the Infradata group to IK Investment Partners
  • Houthoff advised the shareholders of Marvesa on the sale of the Marvesa oils & Fats business to private equity fund Parcom Capital. Marvesa is a supplier of components (oils and fats) for animal compound feed and supplies biomass products for the production of energy.

  • Houthoff represented the shareholders of Plaxinvest B.V. on the sale of their interest in Plaxinvest B.V. to Bentley Systems, Inc. Plaxinvest is the parent company of the Plaxis Group, the leading provider of geotechnical software. This strategic acquisition by Bentley, leading global provider of comprehensive software solutions for advancing infrastructure, serves to make Bentley a complete source for geotechnical professionals.

  • Houthoff represented Mr Perridon and current management of Trust, a consumer electronics manufacturer, on the sale to Egeria. Trust's current board of directors will maintain its active role within the company.

  • Houthoff (co-counsel to Kirkland&Ellis and Dechert LLP, M&A, VDD) advised Wyndham Worldwide Corp on the sale of its European vacation rental business (Landal part) to private equity firm Platinum Equity for approximately USD1.3 billion.
  • Houthoff represented Nationale Nederlanden (NN) in proceedings that were brought by the foundation Vereniging Woekerpolis.nl in relation to investment-linked insurance offered by NN. The court ruled that generally speaking NN had provided sufficient information on costs and premiums.
