Michel houdt zich bezig met projecten, PPS en bouw- en aanbestedingsrecht, zowel in contentieuze als niet-contentieuze zaken. Hij is actief betrokken bij complexe projecten en verschillende soorten contracten, zoals EPC, D&C, DBM, DBFM(O), concessies en allianties. Michel begeleidt een brede verscheidenheid aan cliënten in de bouw-, infrastructuur- en energiesector, bij onder meer contracteren, innovatieve aanbestedingsprocedures, onderhandelingen en procesvoering,  Michel is tevens civieltechnisch ingenieur. Voordat Michiel bij Houthoff in dienst trad, is hij een aantal jaren werkzaam geweest bij een groot Nederlands bouwbedrijf. Hij doceert daarnaast aan het Instituut voor Bouwrecht en publiceert regelmatig over samenwerkingsvormen in de bouw en over aanbestedingsrecht.
