Naomi Dempsey is counsel in both our Employment & Pensions and Supreme Court Litigation teams.

Naomi has extensive experience with all aspects of employment law and civil litigation, ranging from collective and individual dismissal to co-determination and terms of employment. She advises both employers and employees (the latter mainly board members and higher management).
As one of the few employment lawyers in the Netherlands, Naomi is also a member of the Dutch Supreme Court Civil Bar. She has unequalled experience in litigation before the Supreme Court and at all levels. Naomi litigates for clients and also acts as an internal and external adviser for other lawyers in important cases (including appeals), both employment-related and otherwise.

  • Advised and represented ESD-SIC B.V. in proceedings before the Dutch Supreme Court in connection with a dispute with a former employee.
  • Advised Stellantis N.V. on the legal merger between Peugeot Nederland N.V., Citroën Nederland B.V. and Opel Nederland B.V.
  • Assisted GEA in the sale of Royal De Boer Stalinrichtingen B.V. and Japy SAS to Mutares SE & Co. KGaA.
  • Houthoff, together with Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, advised Atlas Holdings LLC on the acquisition of the Permasteelisa Group from LIXIL Group Corporations (Japan).
  • Advised OLA Electric on the acquisition of electric scooter company Etergo B.V.
  • Advised Hexaware Technologies Ltd on the acquisition of Mobiquity Inc. Mobiquity provides digital consulting services for the world’s leading brands, such as Amazon Web Services, Rabobank, Philips, Wawa, Backbase and Otsuka. Houthoff worked jointly with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP on this transaction.

  • Advised Sandd in the sale and transfer of Sandd to PostNL for an amount of EUR 130 million. This transaction resulted in the acquisition of almost the entire postal market by PostNL.

  • Houthoff represented Nationale Nederlanden (NN) in proceedings that were brought by the foundation Vereniging Woekerpolis.nl in relation to investment-linked insurance offered by NN. The court ruled that generally speaking NN had provided sufficient information on costs and premiums.
