Sander specialises in projects and project financing, public-private collaboration, construction law and procurement law. He has extensive experience in drafting and evaluating complex construction contracts (including D&C, DBM, DBFM, DBFM(O) and project alliances) and advising on construction-related matters. Sander assists a broad array of clients in the construction, infrastructure, transport and energy sectors.

Sander is a member of Dutch Construction Law Association and the Dutch Arbitration Association. Sander regularly publishes on construction and procurement law. In 2014 and 2015 he worked at Houthoff’s London and New York offices.

  • Advised Landal GreenParks Holding B.V. on the acquisition of Vakantiemakelaar B.V., the largest specialist in the brokerage of recreational real estate.
  • Advised the OpenIJ consortium, consisting of BAM, Volker Wessels, DIF and PGGM, on the EUR480 million + financing of its successful bid for the new sealocks at IJmuiden. This matter is particularly significant because when completed, these will be the largest sealocks in the world. Also, the IJmond project is the first large infrastructure PPP project in the Netherlands to reach financial close.
  • Advised the winning bidder, consortium Noaber18, consisting of DIF and VolkerWessels on the financing of the PPS-project N18 ‘De Nieuwe Twenteroute’.
